Opened on 10 December 1977 by Dr Toh Chin Chye, Science Centre has emerged out as one of the best holiday destinations for children and students. Concept of Science Centre:

Dino Robot Exhibition at Science Centre:

This year science centre held another blockbuster exhibition from 20th May till 27th August 2017. This was an exceptional travelling exhibition designed directly from Japan for kids. There was a lot to dig into and learn. It gave kids an experience of building a dinosaur robot and helped them learn the essentials of mechanics, automation, assembly and design in an interesting style.

How the Exhibition Was Organized:

The exhibition begun with an introduction on what are dinosaurs, by describing about various traits of dinosaur, their characteristics and features. There were fossils for kids to look at and understand the appearance of the dinosaurs.

To start with the kids were given pamphlet which had answers to various questions, the kids had to scratch those pamphlets to search the correct answer at every station and collect stamps. Once they were finished with collecting all the stamps, they could win back a little gift in exchange of the stamps. These gifts included customized stickers which were printed by Gumtoo.

The main features of this exhibition which kept the kids engaged during the entire session were:

• Seeing a T-Rex dinosaur coming to life using a unique scope in the data and design room.

• Students learnt assembling by adding skin and muscle to the dinosaur’s skeletons in the body assembly room. There were also blocks for little ones to build their own colorful dino robots.

• A Mechanical assembly room was designed for kids so that they can experience animatronics building process with the dinosaur’s skeleton.

• There was also a control room with special sensors, which helped kids to move the dinosaurs and make noise in the way they wished to. Which looked quite real and was very amusing for the kids.

The whole event was a big success, which came as a surprise for kids and a bonus for the parents as their kids learnt a lot while having fun!

Book Launch event: well complimented with stickers

Book promotion events are supposed to be plain events but here we are referring to a book promotion with a sticky flavour. The event was for the recent book by Evangeline Neo,  the famous comic artist.  

Eva an established artist in the comic world has been pursuing her creative interest with all sorts of comic designs. Since 2007, she has been actively posting her comic series over the web. Apart from native language Eva is fluent in English, Chinese and Japanese.

She have had a global education with bachelor’s degree in fine arts from San Francisco and master’s in business administration from Tokyo, Japan. With her efforts and talent she has been successfully able to build her own comics brand by the name of “Evacomics”.

Her Illustration and character designs are loved widely throughout Singapore. In 2014,  she launched hard copy of her work “Eva, Kopi and Matcha” which was a satirical comparison of people and cultural differences of Japan and Singapore. Eva, with her exemplary work has been able to garner significant popularity and this is evident from her whooping 97K Facebook page likes.

Evangeline’s recent appearance was at the Kinokuniya store,  for book launch event of her latest book “Eva goes solo.” She has even mentioned about the event on her blog. The Singaporean Deepavali Special Train - Creative use of Large Format Stickers

The Indian festival of Diwali commemorates the victory of good over evil. Its celebration with light signifies the effort to not only dose-off the darkness in the outside world but also from within.

With the widespread of Indian culture throughout the globe, people and governments all over are taking keen interest in preparing for the festival. Basically a homecoming celebration of Lord Rama, the major attraction of festival is decoration with colours and light. Singapore is home to a significant number of Indian people and with the festival of lights round the corner, Singapore decided to give its trains a deepavali makeover. This decision of the Land Transport Authority came as a soothing surprise for the citizens. These decorations gave freshness to the surroundings and people were not only enthusiastic to travel in these trains but there were many who travelled just to witness the Diwali decorations.

The Diwali themed train was eloquently decorated with garlands and Diwali inspired Images. Large format stickers contributed to the majority of these decorations. Further the station named “Little India” was embellished with the same Diwali aura.  The area around Little India is densely populated with Indians. The embellished station gave them another reason to rejoice. Apart from enchanting stickers there were light decorations for additional charm.

Large format Sticker Printing and Installation for Container Library in West Punggol

Library is a place which holds special reverence in the society. Reading books is a healthy habit and for a small town like Punggol having a library is a boon. Punggol is a planned residential town in the north-eastern Singapore. The inception of the town was announced in the year 1996 and it was revamped in the year 2007. Till now the town provided its residents with all basic amenities like education,  camps etc. but only thing that was prominently missing from the list was a public library. According to local authorities,  works for central public library in West Punggol are still in progress. Meanwhile,  a unique container library has been installed in the town on temporary basis. Located near block 211 Punggol field,  it houses around 3500 books. The library opens on 23rd October and as of now it will function independently.

Talking about aesthetics,  since the library is of temporary nature it has to have an easy setup. It is for this reason it was made out of containers,  easy to place on the spot and presented with stickers,  easy to apply. Gumtoo is honest with its customers,  not only it delivers the correct products on time but the company also makes sure that the products are smoothly installed. Sticking large format stickers in one go is one of the major challenges of this task. Gumtoo surpasses this challenge with a specialised and dedicated team for this work. Installing stickers on plain surfaces is a mediocre task to pull. However,  the container library has temporary walls with contours on them. These contours made it difficult for the stickers to apply. The team of Gumtoo Stickers is a group dedicated for first class work delivery; hence it carried out the work with sheer patience. Sticker application on each and every crest and trough was taken care of. There were high chances of air getting trapped in between the sticker and container wall. This could have degraded the look of library wall. However,  with minute observations and care we were able to produce a handsome score on the outer presentation of the library.
