Eye-catching, cute and artsy illustrations are in vogue!
Teressa Ong, a Singapore-based illustrator is well known for her colorful, cartoony and comic-style illustrations. For light-hearted writers, to have her illustrations on the cover of their novel is a pleasure! The illustrations by Mary Blair, Miroslav Šašek, Alice and Martin Provensen have the power to leave people yearning to travel back in time. Inspired by these famous illustrators, Teressa Ong does a great job at keeping the creative spark alive in her mind, enabling her to design catchy and memorable illustrations.
It is clear that the illustrations created by Teressa are loved by children for the effervescent color combinations and cute characters. However, it is also true to a great extent that her illustrations are loved by just as many adults, for their ability to let the child in them give out a sweet chuckle.
Teressa Ong studied Digital Media Design (Animation) at Nanyang Polytechnic. She mainly focuses on creating personal and memorable characters through her illustrations. She loves to experiment and draw anthropomorphic animals, dressed in cool and trendy clothes. These kinds of illustrations can leave one feeling connected to the character in many interesting ways.
Teressa Ong’s illustrations have graced the cover of a novel ‘Tokoyo: The Tomb of the Sea Serpent’, published by Epigram Books, Singapore’s independent publishing company. Teressa artfully created the illustration of the character ‘Tokoyo’, a brave daughter of a samurai. The illustration is well-appreciated for the character’s fierce yet determined expression. This allowed the readers to glide through the story, while imagining the changing expressions on the character’s face with every turn of event mentioned in the book.
We all have certain quirks, and so does Teressa! Like most us, Teressa loves stickers too! Getting stickers printed and giving them away is her way of showing love to people. Promoting various characters and joyous activities through her stickers is her passion. Just as we enjoy getting customised stickers printed and pasting them on laptops, Teressa designs them for her love to create and sell!
Teressa, with the help of Gumtoo Stickers has been able to give out many stickers to her friends and friends of friends at the Anime Festival Asia. She felt glad to have seen so many happy faces all at once. She has the mind of a six-year-old, as she claims, she loves to admit that she loves stickers and so do all her friends.
Teressa, happy with Gumtoo Stickers’ promptness, stated, “Many thanks to Gumtoo Stickers for delivering everything in time.”
Giving out the stickers of her favorite characters from Haikyuu!!, the manga series, gave her immense joy. Gumtoo Stickers helped her with this little hop to jumpstart her wish to start selling stickers online.
Gumtoo stickers also worked with Evangeline Neo, a famous comic artist. The crowd-pleasing element at her book release event was the distribution of sticker sheets to all those happy customers who bought her book.
Gumtoo Stickers helps increase interaction between the designers and the enthusiastic, artsy crowd. There are many ways to promote creative designs of illustrators. However, one of the ways could be to get the illustrations converted to stickers, which could be distributed to people. An attractive sticker always ends up pasted on the laptop. On seeing it every day, the colors and the characters associated to the designer’s imagination tend to become a part of people’s memory. Hence, the designer behind the memorable illustration will eventually be known to people.
Just like Teressa, many illustrators may get stickers printed to sell them at stores or online. The quality of the stickers is just as important as the appearance, making Gumtoo Stickers a promising place to get your creative designs printed!
